New sales data from NFLShop.com was released on Wednesday and now we have a good look at how jerseys are selling around the country. Marshawn Lynch joining the Raiders was popular — like, really, really popular.
Marshawn Lynch is dominating the entire western U.S. in jersey sales

Lynch isn’t just owning the west coast, he’s taking over a good chunk of the country. His new Raiders jersey is the biggest seller in 14 states, bested only by Tom Brady’s 17 states — but it should be noted that the Patriots fanbase basically ensure he’ll naturally get six states from New England alone.
Where Lynch is excelling is taking over markets that already have teams. He’s out-selling any Seahawk in Washington, trouncing Cardinals in Arizona, and poor Andrew Luck didn’t stand a chance in Indiana against Beast Mode.
There are some really weird things about this map too.
- Adrian Peterson’s Saints jersey is No.1 in Minnesota.
- Greg Olsen is top in Ohio, despite having zero ties to the state at all.
- Adam Thielen is the best-selling jersey in North Dakota.
- DeShaun Watson’s Clemson ties have caused him to blitz past Cam Newton in the Carolinas.
- James Conner owns Pennsylvania over Carson Wentz, but that can be explained thanks to his incredible story.
We’ll see how this ends up at the end of the season.
