El Salvador player twists Jozy Altidore’s nipple and bites his shoulder

What just happened?

In a CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinal between the United States men’s national team and El Salvador, things got chippy, to say the least. The United States was up 2-0 in the second half when El Salvador’s Henry Romero grabbed Jozy Altidore’s nipple and twisted it. Altidore bends over and then pushes off Romero, who seems surprised by the reaction.

That alone would have been enough to raise a few eyebrows about how the game is being called. But then things somehow escalated from that.

if that wasn’t enough, a similar incident happened right after the nipple twist involving both players. This time, Romero approached Altidore from behind but bit Altidore’s shoulder.

What just happened?
