This is one of the best dang tackles you will ever see, in any sport.

This perfectly brutal poetry is courtesy of New South Wales’ Ruan Sims, who delivered the bone-crunching hit in the Women’s State of Origin in Australia over the weekend. The tackle had a little extra meaning. Sims obliterated Queensland captain Karina Brown in a game where the New South Wales women wanted to get revenge for the men’s team losing its series to Queensland earlier this month.

The tackle, it should be noted, was totally illegal and resulted in a penalty. You can’t lift a played above the horizontal plane and dump them, which Sims’ tackle absolutely did — but that’s all elementary. Brown was OK following the hit, and we can just enjoy one of the best, purest tackles ever.
