The NBA offseason has given teams time to take a walk, smell the flowers, and get very creative. On Monday night the Kings used Twitter to tell as basketball story in a creative format, and it was wonderful.

It’s impossible to accurately portray the story here, so go ahead and click the tweet and get lost down the rabbit hole. Essentially the concept is that the Kings have the ball, down by one, with 20 seconds to go, and you’re on the team. You need to devise a game plan to win.
There are plenty of branches the path can take from this point. Do you try to distribute the ball? Drive the lane? Run out the clock? Me, being the fool I am, held onto the ball and tried to shoot the game-winning three myself. This was the end of the road.
The ingenious thing about this format is how well it works on Twitter. There’s no page turning, or skipping to the end to cheat — you just experience it. Furthermore, by baking in endings that see the Kings lose the tension is there with every click.
Honestly, every team in the league could copy the Kings’ idea and I’d play every single one of them.
