Didi is hitting the streets of New York to curry favor with nontraditional voters in a campaign that’s the most unique we’ve seen.
The “DidiGoodDeeds” concept is simple: Didi Gregorius is going around being really nice to people in a variety of ways, and in turn, selling himself as the ultimate All-Star, not just of baseball — but of life.
10:45 a.m. Didi is in the subway giving people free rides on his card:
11:52 a.m. Gregorius went to Rockefeller Center and took photos for tourists:
2:16 p.m. He made burrito bowls for hungry folks.
2:28 p.m. It’s raining in New York, so Didi handed out free umbrellas!
3:28 p.m. Gregorius went on a tour bus and asked people to vote for him.
Not sure if this classifies as a “good deed,” per se — but we’ll allow it.
This is honestly one of the best things we’ve seen an athlete do to get All-Star votes. We’ll be following Gregorius’ amazing journey of kindness through New York City all day.
