This is incredible for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, it would presumably be outside the purview of either the UFC or the Nevada boxing commission — after all, he’s looking to stage his own fights.
Secondly, the concept of an “all comers” free-for-all combat arena is incredible, and makes me think of that scene in Snatch where buff Brad Pitt knocks out the big dude in the bare-knuckle brawl.
I have no idea how the legality of this would work, but THIS is the real reason everyone should hope Conor beats Floyd. You don’t need to root for McGregor outside of this, but if he loses, then making a combat cage makes no sense. If he wins he’ll get to say he’s the greatest fighter of all time, and heck — we could end up seeing Floyd vs. The Mountain from Game of Thrones.
This needs to happen.
