One second you’re mountain biking down a tranquil trail, and the next you round a corner and there’s a bear just chilling in your path. That’s what happened to one cyclist:

This is the price you pay for doing sports in nature. Thankfully, the cyclist had the wherewithal to skid into bushes along the path and avoid coming into contact with the bear, and we’re assuming he’s OK because this video was posted to the internet and not part of a tragic news story.
We’ve seen this kind of thing before. Earlier this year, some cyclists in Slovakia were charged by a bear while biking in the country. That video was even scarier than this one:
