The 6 most amazing moments from LaVar Ball’s Lithuanian coaching debut

LaVar Ball made his head coaching debut in Lithuania for BC Vytautas, and it was so quintessentially LaVar Ball that you’ve probably already guessed how it went. Nobody played defense, the game was all offense, and there were only 2 minutes and 52 seconds where both LiAngelo and LaMelo weren’t on the court together.

LaVar’s team won, 151-120, against the current sixth-place team in the Lithuanian second division — but those details are unimportant. What is important is that when it comes to pro coaching, LaVar has NEVER LOST.

LaMelo recorded his first triple-double in a pro game.

Despite having a slow start, the youngest Ball progeny went off and finished with 40 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

LiAngelo played pretty dang great as well.

In any other game he would been the star, but his brother overshadowed him on Sunday. LiAngelo finished with 31 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

LaVar’s team shot 121 times, including 58 times from three

And LaMelo and LiAngelo combined for 68 of those shots.

The team captain only got 16:39 on the court.

Maybe this was an effort to preserve 33-year-old Gediminas Maceina, but c’mon ... the jokes write themselves here.

Before the game, LaVar promised 160 points and a 30-40 point win.

I mean ... 151-120 is pretty dang accurate.

His postgame interview needs to be seen to be believed.

Did he just compare the players to Uzis? Yes he did.
Did he tell the coach to get cookies and milk? Yes he did.
Did he say he’s going to teach the coach to love basketball again? Yes he did.
Did he say the coach tells him that he’s never wrong? Your hearing is fine, seriously.

All in all it was a magical day in Lithuania. This ends with him coaching the national team and all three kids getting Lithuanian citizenship, doesn’t it?
