The Tokyo 2020 Olympic mascots have officially been picked following a months-long vote by school children in Japan. Three final sets of mascots were available, with the winning entry being a pair of anime space rabbits.

These are good mascots.

Names for the mascots have not been revealed, with the Olympic committee saying they will reveal those over the summer. The Toyko games follow in the footsteps of Rio and London by having a single mascot, instead of a group.
The mascots themselves are two parts Powerpuff Girls with a gentle sprinkling of the Samurai Pizza Cats for good measure. They’re definitely one of the more memorable choices we’ve seen, and make a lot more sense than London’s sentient steel the country used for the Olympics in 2020.
The mascots won the vote with a mammoth 109,000, beating the nearest candidate by 40,000 votes.
