Dirk Nowitzki’s jersey was misspelled the night he broke 50,000 minutes played

This is so sad.

Dirk Nowitzki had a very special night Monday when he became just the sixth player in NBA history to record 50,000 minutes — but there was just one problem.

Poor Dirk Nowitkzi, I mean Nowitzki. Jersey misspellings are fairly commonplace, but it’s rather unique to see them happen on a milestone night. All he could do was try to find the humor in it all:

OK, that actually sounds like despair, not humor. Poor Nowitzki. This does raise an interesting question: Does Nowitzki still sit below 50,000 minutes and Nowikzi get credited with Monday night’s game?

Every great scorer needs to learn Dirk Nowitzki’s one-legged fadeaway
