We have another sports robot foreshadowing the future of athletics with “Cue,” the shiny free-throw shooting robot built by Toyota.
This basketball robot is a perfect free-throw shooting machine

The basketbot can be dialed in to a shot and become perfectly accurate, regardless of what’s going on around it — because robots can’t be phased. That said, the technology under the hood (does a robot have a hood?) is pretty impressive. To mimic a human shot requires a series of actuators moving in concert to replicate the motion of shooting a free throw — which is astounding.
Also when put up against two professional basketball players in Japan they didn’t stand a chance against “Cue.”
Maybe Toyota can make a robot suit to improve Markelle Fulz’s shot.
