A ‘Jeopardy!’ contestant thought spring training in Florida was called the ‘Bush League’
(It’s Grapefruit League)

It’s a shame Jeopardy doesn’t go by baseball rules. This contestant needed more than one strike to get the answer right.
On Wednesday’s Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek asked, “Spring training baseball in Florida is known as this league.” If you’re a baseball fan, you would know that they the league is called the Grapefruit League. Unfortunately, this contestant didn’t say that.
Instead he responded with, “What is the Bush League” which is a good try. Bush League is something that’s said in baseball, but it’s mostly when it’s referring to a smaller league or sometimes to consider something subpar. Maybe he was thinking about former presidential candidate Jeb Bush, who was governor of Florida. It’s an easy freudian slip to make. It happens.
