Yankees home opener postponed due to snow

The Yankees were supposed to host the Rays on Monday, but, as you can see, that is NOT happening. Snow has been falling all night in New York, which led to a very pretty, but decidedly un-baseball scene.
It’s not the first time snow has fallen on the day of the Yankees’ season opener. In 1996 the Royals came to town and the teams played while snow was falling — albeit less than we’re seeing today.
