Geno Auriemma might have subtweeted Arike Ogunbowale in 2014. She definitely got revenge.

It’s perfect.

Arike Ogunbowale had ice water in her veins when she nailed the game-winning three to give Notre Dame the national championship — but now people are looking back to 2014, when there seemed to be some beef with UConn coach Geno Auriemma.

Some are doubting whether the original tweet from Auriemma is real, as his account has since been deactivated — but he was verified at the time of the tweet, and a discussion on a UConn message board confirms the back-and-forth.

It’s unclear if Auriemma’s comment was directly related to Ogunbowale’s tweet, but it seems like a heck of a coincidence. The petty was real, and while it took a few years to finally conquer the mountain Ogunbowale got the last laugh.
