Katie’s video is pretty dang good. She shot her shot by asking The Rock to the prom with a sign, a bad pun and “the world’s largest collection of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson merchandise,” which was about five items.
Now, it would be understandable and Katie never got a response. That thing happens every day, but Dwayne Johnson went above and beyond — even though he couldn’t make the prom because he’ll be shooting a movie, he replied with a heck of a surprise.
The Rock booked out an entire movie theater for Katie and as many people as she wants to see Johnson’s new movie Rampage. Now, you can be cynical and say this was an opportunity for a publicity stunt for a new movie — but that doesn’t explain The Rock calling Stillwater High and leaving a voicemail to be read during morning announcements,
Katie and 232 of her friends and family got to see the movie on The Rock’s dime, and had a blast. All because she had the guts to shoot her shot and take a chance. So awesome.
