Police officers in England are being praised for their quick thinking after commandeering golf carts to rush to the scene of a brawl on the course involving weapons and resulting in broken bones.
British police had to hop on golf carts to go stop a violent brawl on the course

The Greenway Hall Golf Club, in Stockton Brook, was struck with violence last week when two groups of golfers began fighting over allegations of slow play. It escalated to a point where officers needed to chase them down on the course, taking carts out and racing to the scene.
Four men were arrested on suspicion of assault, which is really an incredible charge considering reports state that people had bones broken in the brawl. Chief Inspector John Owen, commander of Stoke-on-Trent North, issued a punderful statement that will probably make you cringe.
“I’m very proud of my officers. They’ve used initiative, gone to a fight (as we always do) outnumbered, and have resolved it resulting in peace and order. Hole in one I’d say!”
Thankfully it was a relatively-peaceful resolution to the situation, which sits in stark contrast to an altercation which happened in Australia last year. A Victorian man was jailed after stabbing his friend in the thigh with a knife in a near-fatal altercation, which also happened on a golf course.
An drunken argument between friends led the man to retrieve a knife and stab his friend in the thigh, hitting an artery and causing massive blood loss. The man was air lifted and transported to hospital, and survived — but now suffers from permanent nerve damage as a result of the attack.
