Jason Day had a curious moment on the opening day of the Masters when he drove his ball into the gallery, and right into a fan’s cup of beer.
Jason Day had to wait for a fan to chug his beer to get his ball back at the Masters
Dilly dilly.

The fan chugged the beer, and promptly handed it back to Day — who laughed through the whole thing.
How does this all work?
USGA rules govern the Masters, which consider fans to be a part of the course. Normally Day would need to play the ball as it lays, but since it was in a cup of beer that was impossible.
So Day took a free drop, as close to the location of the beer cup as possible and played on. The fan chugging it first? That was just an excellent personal decision. Why fish through that thing and get your hands all wet when you can just get a new beer? It’s not like a beer is expensive at the Masters anyway.
Beer shot: Another magical moment at Augusta.
