If you’ve played sports casually you’ve probably had a rules dispute, but it’s rare that you can go directly to the sport’s governing body and get an answer.
Cricket’s governing body will answer your friends’ rules debate on Twitter
This is wonderful.

Hamza was playing a game in his village, purportedly in the mountains of Pakistan, when a debate broke out during a cricket game on whether a backspinning ball hit by the batsman can result in a wicket. It can! This is rule 32.1 that the ICC reference:
“The striker is out bowled if his wicket is put down by a ball delivered by the bowler, not being a no ball, even if it first touches the striker’s bat or person.”
Rough news for the batter, but it all checks out. It’s just so delightful and quaint that a governing body of one of the world’s most popular sports would take the time to answer a question from a random person on Twitter.
