Happy Monday, world! It’s time to start the week off on the right foot, attack the day, and allow me to absolutely crush you into a fine paste at the grim realization that the slow, inevitable march of time will come to destroy us all, and leave our corpses to fertilize plants for future generations.
24 NBA players were born after Michael Jordan’s flu game because you’re old
The “Flu Game” is old enough to drink.

June 11 is the anniversary of Michael Jordan’s legendary “Flu Game”. In the 1997 NBA Finals, he put up 38 points in a tied 2-2 series while being so sick that he looked like he was out on his feet when the game ended. The image of Scottie Pippen carrying a limp Jordan off the court following the win is iconic, and yet some players in the NBA are so young they weren’t even born when it happened.
The flu game can legally drink today, but these NBA players can’t.

Other interesting things about June 1997.
- The biggest movies in theaters were Con Air, Speed 2: Cruise Control, Batman & Robin, and Face/Off — proving Nicholas Cage was the real MVP.
- The highest-selling album was Spice by the Spice Girls, followed by Wu-Tang Forever by the Wu-Tang Clan — proving 1997 was weird as hell.
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was released.
- The U.K. issued a total ban of handguns.
- GoldenEye 007 for the N64 wouldn’t be released for two months.
Thanks, now I feel terrible.
It could be worse! Have you talked to a kid who doesn’t know what a CD is? Because that’s a thing that exists now too!
