Braves Vs. Giants, NLDS Game 3: Eric Hinske Blasts Dramatic Go-Ahead Home Run

Just the way Bobby Cox drew it up. Cox pinch-hit Troy Glaus for Rick Ankiel, compelling Bruce Bochy to replace the left-handed Jonathan Sanchez with the right-handed Sergio Romo. Cox then pinch-hit the left-handed Eric Hinske for Glaus, and on a 2-2 pitch, Hinske went down and yanked a low slider deep down the line in right field that just barely clipped the foul pole.

Hinske's dramatic, out-of-nowhere home run has given the Braves a 2-1 lead going into the top of the ninth, where they will not be able to hand the ball over to Billy Wagner. Craig Kimbrel is on to close.
