The good news for the Reds is that Johnny Cueto dealt well with Orlando Cabrera's early error. Following the mistake, Cueto tossed three consecutive scoreless innings. The bad news for the Reds is that they've been unable to do much against Cole Hamels, with three singles and three strikeouts through four scoreless innings. You can't count on Cueto to match zeroes with Hamels forever, and sure enough, in the top of the fifth, another crack developed. With two outs and none on, Cueto threw a pitch down and in to Chase Utley, and Utley yanked it just barely over the right-center wall.

The home run was reviewed, as it looked like a fan might have reached out and over to catch the ball, but the play was upheld, and Utley was given the solo home run. That dinger extended Philly’s lead to 2-0, and at the halfway point, the Reds are running out of time. They need to rally, and they need to rally soon.
