Cole Hamels just isn't giving the Reds a chance. The crowd keeps trying to get their team fired up, but Hamels is pitching well enough that it simply doesn't matter. Cincinnati's eighth inning:
Reds Vs. Phillies, NLDS Game 3: Cole Hamels Keeps It Rolling In Eighth
-Orlando Cabrera fly out
-Ryan Hanigan ground out
-Drew Stubbs strikeout
The Reds even caught a break when Placido Polanco dropped a Hanigan pop-up in foul ground, but Hanigan couldn't do anything with his second chance. We now head to the ninth with Philly's 2-0 lead intact, and given that Hamels' pitch count sits at 106, it's possible he may even return for a shot at the complete game.
Aroldis Chapman is on to work the ninth for the Reds.
