The Giants haven't yet handed in their official World Series roster, but according to Andrew Baggarly, when they do that early Wednesday, they're going to turn in the same roster they used in the NLDS against the Braves and the NLCS against the Phillies.
Barry Zito To Be Left Off Giants World Series Roster
What does that mean? Most notably, it means that Barry Zito will again be inactive. There was some discussion that Zito might be added and a reliever like Guillermo Mota might be removed, but ultimately, Bruce Bochy has decided to stick with what's worked.
In other news for the Giants, Madison Bumgarner has been confirmed as the Game 4 starter behind Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain, and Jonathan Sanchez. Bochy could always opt for Lincecum on short rest if he finds that his team is in trouble, but Bumgarner has been effective so far in the playoffs and has absolutely earned the trust of his teammates and coaches.
And finally, the team expects that Andres Torres will be good and ready to go for Game 1. In the unlikely scenario that Torres doesn't feel right, Edgar Renteria will lead off, and Aaron Rowand will play center field. But Torres should be good, meaning he'll play center and lead off like usual.
