Baltimore's Brian Roberts is suffering from concussion-like symptoms, which isn't really funny. But the idea that Roberts may have given himself brain damage by hitting himself in the head with his bat is certainly ironic. Roberts tells MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli:
Brian Roberts May Have Suffered A Concussion After Hitting Himself With His Bat
↵“I don’t know 100 percent sure [what caused the headaches], but it was Monday night. In frustration, I whacked myself on the head with my bat in the ninth. I had my helmet on. It’s something I’ve done a million times, but I still can’t tell you for sure if that was it. But that’s the only thing that I can point to because that night and the next morning, I just didn’t feel good.”↵Roberts also told Ghiroli, “It’s been one for the memory banks, but not for the best memory bank I guess.” I’m just going to ignore the idea that Roberts could have been referring to another dispiriting season with the
and interpret that as him learning the important lesson that hitting yourself in the head with the same instrument you use to hit spheroids really hard might not end well.
