The eighth inning just saw some solid work from the bullpens, and we're going into the top of the ninth with the score still 4-2 Rangers.
World Series Game 3, Giants Vs. Rangers: Neftali Feliz On To Handle Ninth
Colby Lewis was removed with two outs and a man on first in the top of the eighth, and Ron Washington called on righty Darren O'Day to come in to face Buster Posey. O'Day immediately got ahead 0-2 and put himself in commanding position, but the count would work full before O'Day got Posey to ground out harmlessly to end the inning and preserve the two-run lead.
Jeremy Affeldt returned to the mound in the bottom half to face the left-handed Josh Hamilton, and Affeldt was able to get Hamilton to fly out on a moderately deep fly ball to center field. With righties due up, Bruce Bochy then went to the right-handed Ramon Ramirez out of the bullpen to finish things off, and Ramirez sandwiched a fielding error by Edgar Renteria with a Nelson Cruz fly out and an Ian Kinsler strikeout. The Rangers left a runner, and Ramirez got the job done.
To the ninth we go, as Neftali Feliz comes in to make his first appearance of the World Series. He'll get Pat Burrell, Cody Ross, and Juan Uribe.
