‘Double Roybow’ Shirt Pleases Fans Of The Phillies And Slightly Old Internet Memes
↵
Phillies fans might not have expected anything so historic as a postseason no-hitter out of Roy Halladay, but they came prepared to cheer on their team's ace with admirable creativity.
↵Spotted several times during the broadcast was a Bugs Bunny “What’s Up Doc?” banner, playing on the Doc Holliday nickname for Roy, that adorned an overhang in the outfield stands. One section of fans calling themselves Doc’s Patients stood in a group in hospital gowns and simulated giving one another EKG shocks with each Halladay strikeout.
↵With two outs in the bottom of the 9th, TBS cameras caught two fans wearing Double Roybow shirts, which are playing on the Double Rainbow phenomenon that took the online time-wasting community by storm a few months ago. If you’re unfamiliar with the video at this point, well, then, welcome to the Internet. A sunglasses-clad person will be around to tell you to deal with something shortly.
