Brandon Webb Thinks He’s Ready To Pitch, But Will The Diamondbacks Let Him?

Brandon Webb, who last started an MLB game in April 2009, thinks he's fully healthy and ready to return to a mound. But the Diamondbacks may not let him.

↵SB Nation Arizona’s Seth Pollack does some reading of the tea leaves, and wonders whether Webb has earned the right to showcase his stuff before he becomes a free agent this winter.

↵It’s an interesting predicament for new Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers: Webb has put in work for the D’Backs and may well deserve a chance to audition for other teams, but Towers might also believe in Webb enough as an asset that he wants him to keep his talents under wraps so as to drive down his value on the open market. Towers faces an interesting choice in his first big move as GM, and the first big decision for the D’Backs since interim GM Jerry DiPoto swung a Dan Haren trade.
