A day after Evan Longoria and Davis Price went scorched Earth on Rays fans, the organization is trying to turn this into a win-win-win situation.
Tampa Bay Giving Away 20,000 Tickets To The Rays-Orioles Game
The Tampa Bay Rays will give away 20,000 tickets to tomorrow night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles after poor attendance last night drew criticism from the team’s players, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
WIN for Longoria, Price and the rest of the players who can potentially see a packed stadium on hand to watch them beat up on the AAA Orioles.
WIN for the Rays fans, who don’t have to pay a dime to watch a baseball game involving the Orioles, something that has no intrinsic value to begin with.
WIN for the Rays organization, that saves some face in the community and on the PR front. Not to mention gets a couple butts in the seats. Winning doesn’t seem to have any effect, so you might as well fill them the only other way you can.
And WIN for the Orioles, who are back in the news in September. So I guess this is a win-win-win-win scenario.
