Alfredo Simon Being Held In Prison Pending Ballistics Results
Baltimore Orioles reliever Alfredo Simon is currently being investigated for his role in the New Year’s Eve fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man in the Dominican town of Luperon. Earlier on Monday, it was reported that Simon would be held in prison without bail for (up to) a year until the start of his trial. We now have a little more on the situation.
Updating the previous report, Dan Connelly says that Simon is actually in prison for the time being in Santiago pending the results of ballistics tests. Authorities are looking to confirm that the bullet that struck and killed Michael Esteban Castillo Almonte came from Simon’s gun.
