Today, the Society for American Baseball Research announced this year’s recipients of the Henry Chadwick Award, which was established last year to “honor the game’s great researchers—historians, statisticians, annalists, and archivists—for their invaluable contributions to making baseball the game that links America’s present with its past.”
B-R.com’s Sean Forman Wins Research Prize
↵As a member of the five-person selection committee, I am pleased to report that one of this year’s recipients is Sean Forman, the genius behind Baseball-Reference.com. The other four recipients are all giants in the field, too: authors Charles Alexander and John Holway, researcher Cliff Kachline and longtime Sporting News publisher J.G. Taylor Spink.
