Seattle Lefty Royce Ring Flings Occasional Floater

If you're looking for a non-roster invitee to root for this spring, you could do a lot worse than Mariners lefty sidearmer Royce Ring. Kirby Arnold:

↵↵Ring throws a fastball/changeup/slider/curve repertoire, with variations on his breaking ball depending if he wants a sweeper or one that has a sharper break.
A year ago he added a knuckleball, which he uses mostly to show hitters another look.

↵↵And Ring learned his knuckleball from Charlie Hough. Some decades ago, it was common for pitchers to rely on a knuckleball as their primary changeup, but that practice essentially disappeared during the 1960s. I’d love to see a comeback.
