↵ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick reporting Yankees have traded Sergio Mitre to the Brewers, no word yet on who they get in return. Mitre, of course, was ostensibly in the running for the fifth starter's job but got lit up pretty good by the Orioles in Sarasota Tuesday and seemed to have fallen out of the conversation.

↵I never really bought Mitre as a legitimate option, anyway. Not with a 5.48 career ERA as a starter in the majors, and not with all those veterans running around (and pitching well) this spring. With the Brewers, Mitre figures to slide into the bullpen somewhere, but probably isn’t good enough to hold a key role for long.

Update: The Yankees are getting outfielder Chris Dickerson in the deal. Dickerson's no kid, but his Triple-A career suggests he might be useful as a fifth or sixth outfielder in a good organization.
