↵Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost called Tim Collins into his office this morning and told him he would be in the bullpen when the club opens the season Thursday, making the Worcester native one of the youngest - and smallest - players in the majors.

Collins is listed at 5'7" but everybody seems to that's generous by an inch of two. The only competition is a) 5'7" David Eckstein, except he's currently looking for work, and b) Cincinnati's 5'6" screwball-throwing reliever Danny Herrera. We can probably assume that Collins will be the smallest player in the Big Boy League, anyway. And kudos to the Royals for getting him in a trade with the Braves last July.
↵Oh, and Collins throws in the mid-90s. In the minors, he struck out 329 hitters in 223 innings. This might be fun.
