↵Monday evening, as a thunderstorm washed away their second-to-last Grapefruit League game, the Yankees announced that Eric Chavez, 33 years old and six years removed from his last full season in the big leagues, had made the team as one of two reserve infielders along with Eduardo Nunez.

I have to admit that I didn't think we would ever see Chavez again. Not playing in the majors, anyway. And definitely not for the New York Yankees. Granted, I still think he's going to break down before Memorial Day. But I'm also hoping Chavez keeps surprising me, because life's more interesting that way.
