Baseball playoff odds and picks: NLDS, ALDS betting

Mike Leake will dispatch the Giants and Chris Carpenter will spin some more October magic for St. Louis - if the prediction maestros at OddsShark.com are correct.

Jeff Curry-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Bay area could lose both of its baseball teams tonight, as four MLB playoff games highlight the baseball wagering lineup.

The Giants fended off Cincinnati with an extra-innings victory in Game 3, while Oakland did the same against Detroit. Both are underdogs in Game 4 tonight.

In the other matchups, the Yankees opened as -162 home chalk against Baltimore and Washington was -110 against St. Louis. Both of those series are deadlocked 1-1.

Our top pick of the night is St. Louis, a team that always seems to get the job done and a team sending a pitcher who personifies that trait. Chris Carpenter, who was 4-0 last year as the Cards pulled a World Series upset that saw bettors turn a monster profit, goes for the Cards.

He faces erratic Edwin Jackson. The Nats have won eight of nine home meetings with the Cards, but not tonight.

Our other top pick is Cincinnati and Mat Latos, who has dominated the Giants this season. San Francisco was lucky last night and won’t live to see Game 5.

*Editor Note: Latos is being replaced by Mike Leake as the Reds starter for Game 3 - watch for line changes.
