For the sixth straight day Monday, Major League Baseball underdogs won more games than they lost, meaning continued good news for those baseball bettors who like to back the dogs.

Underdogs won seven of 13 games on Monday, producing a profit of $235, based upon theoretical $100 wagers. So over the course of the last six days of baseball betting, the dogs are 52-35.
"It's been a remarkable run for sure and it's the type of trend that shifts the opinion of oddsmakers," said Mike Pickett of OddsShark.com.
"You can only win so many times as an underdog before the hype builds, the money starts getting bigger and the moneyline swings you to chalk status more regularly."
The Kansas City Royals led the way Monday, shutting out the New York Yankees 6-0 while getting +145 on the betting line. Also, the Toronto Blue Jays won at Tampa getting +140, and the Seattle Mariners and Felix Hernandez topped Texas getting +130 as home dogs.
Also Monday, as we returned to league play, baseball totals leaned toward the 'unders' by a 7-5-1 margin.
Among Tuesday's baseball betting matchups, the Pirates and James McDonald are -120 favorites over RA Dickey and the Mets; Roy Halladay and the Phillies are -150 faves over Jordan Zimmerman and the Nationals; Brandon Beachy and the Braves are -115 road chalk at Mat Latos and the Reds; and Phil Hughes and the suddenly punchless Yankees are -175 favorites over Luke Hochevar and the Royals.
