It was a heckuva run, but we knew it would eventually come to an end. And so it did Tuesday for MLB betting underdogs who, after a six-day streak of success, finally suffered a losing day.
Baseball Betting Roundup: Favorites Finally Have Winning Day

Baseball's favorites won nine of 15 games Tuesday, making a profit of $120 based upon theoretical $100 bets. The biggest favorite on the board, the Yankees at -170, got off their schneid -- at least temporarily -- with a 3-2 victory over the Royals.
But keeping the favorites from making a little more money were the Twins, who beat the White Sox as +140 underdogs; the Nationals, who beat Roy Halladay and the Phillies while getting +130; and the Dodgers, who rallied to beat the Diamondbacks getting +125.
Looking at some of Wednesday's more heavily bet action, James Shields and the Rays are -120 faves over Ricky Romero and the Blue Jays (1:10 pm Eastern); Jered Weaver and the Angels are -160 road chalk vs. Jarrod Parker and the A's (3:35 E); Cole Hamels and the Phillies are -165 home favorites over intentional-plunking victim Bryce Harper and the Nationals (7:05 E); and Ted Lilly and the streaking Dodgers are -110 road faves at Joe Saunders and the Diamondbacks (9:40 E).
