Blue Jays vs Nationals Odds: Strasburg vs Drabek

The Toronto Blue Jays will get their first look at Washington Nationals ace Stephen Strasburg on Wednesday afternoon as the young hurler takes the hill at Rogers Centre to close out the three-game interleague series between the clubs.

The righthander has been a great friend to baseball bettors so far this season, as the Nationals have pulled out the win 10 times during his dozen starts in 2012. Strasburg boasts a 7-1 record on the season with a sparkling 2.41 ERA, and he's struck out 92 batters while walking only 19 in his 71 innings pitched.

Will Strasburg have trouble with an AL East opponent after facing primarily National League teams? That hasn't been an issue for him so far, as he has victories against the Orioles (one earned run over five innings) and the Red Sox (two earned runs over six innings, plus 13 strikeouts) over his last four outings.

The Blue Jays have Kyle Drabek in line to start on Wednesday afternoon, and he's struggled to pitch his team to wins over the past month. Overall Toronto has won just three times over the righthander's last 10 starts even though he allowed three or fewer earned runs in eight of those contests.

Drabek will be looking for some better luck on Wednesday, but he'll be in tough against one of baseball's top hitters.

Washington's other young gun, outfielder Bryce Harper, missed some time over the weekend with a sore back, but the team is hoping the rest has him at 100 percent for the remainder of their schedule this week as they try to hold onto top spot in the NL East. The Nats' early-season success now has them up to 15/1 on the World Series futures.

The Blue Jays have respectable 20/1 odds to win the World Series at the sportsbooks, but in the tight AL East they have little room for error if they want to slip into the expanded playoffs this season. Toronto is also set at 9/1 odds to win the AL Pennant.
