The New York Yankees had their longest winning streak in 27 years come to an end Tuesday, victims of one of the better bullpens in baseball.

The Atlanta Braves, as +125 underdogs, broke the Yankees' 10-game winning streak Tuesday with a 4-3 victory. Braves starter Tim Hudson gave up three runs in the first four innings, but the Atlanta bullpen held New York scoreless over the last four innings. The Yanks also had two guys thrown out at the plate.

So the Braves and Yanks will play a series rubber match Wednesday afternoon.

Favorites on the MLB betting lines won nine of 15 games Tuesday. The biggest chalk on the board came through, as Cole Hamels and the Phillies, at -240, beat the Rockies 7-2. Also Tuesday, Justin Verlander and the Tigers, as -160 faves, beat Lance Lynn and the Cardinals 6-3; David Price and the Rays, as -140 favorites on the road, handed the Nationals their fourth straight loss, 5-4; Johan Santana and three relievers help the Mets, at -145, blank the Orioles 5-0; Clay Buchholz struggled but the Red Sox, at -145, beat the Marlins 7-5; and CJ Wilson and the Angels, at -220, breezed to a 12-5 win over the Giants.

The biggest dog to bite on the night was the Cubs, who nipped Jake Peavy and the White Sox 2-1 while getting +190 on the betting line.

Looking at Wednesday's baseball betting board, we find Phil Hughes and the Yankees at -145 over Tommy Hanson and the Braves; Rick Porcello and the Tigers are -125 over Jake Westbrook and the Cardinals; Justin Masterson and the first-place Indians are -125 over Bronson Arroyo and the first-place Reds; Dillon Gee and the Mets are -135 over Brian Matusz and the Orioles; and Jered Weaver (fresh off the DL) and the Angels are -200 over Ryan Vogelsong and the Giants.
