There were some crazy finishes for baseball bettors MLB Monday night that set off wild celebrations or fits of anger, depending on which side of the game they bet on.
Late Rallies Cause MLB Betting Celebrations
The Nationals, as -135 favorites at Citi Field, allowed the Mets to come back from a 2-0 deficit to send the game to extra innings, then exploded for six runs in the tenth to win 8-2. The Nats also covered on the run line getting upwards of +125, and that game played 'over' on its total despite being 2-2 through regulation.
In Philly, the Brewers (+190 underdogs against Roy Halladay), took a 6-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth, only to have K-Rod give up four runs and lose 7-6.
Also, the Cubs, as +145 dogs, beat the Pirates 2-0; the Dodgers, as +135 dogs, beat the Cardinals 5-3; and the Yankees, who pulled off a cross-dugout trade with the Mariners for Ichiro Suzuki in the hours before their game, beat the M's 4-1 as -180 favorites.
For Tuesday we see RA Dickey and the Mets are -115 favorites over Gio Gonzalez and the Nationals; Adam Wainwright and the Cards are -125 faves over Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers; Travis Blackley and the streaking A's are +120 dogs vs. Brett Cecil and the Blue Jays; and Wei-Yin Chen and the Orioles are -140 chalk over Jeremy Hellickson and the Rays.
