Around the MLB, Tuesday was almost a repeat of Monday in several ways.

The Pirates, trying to chase down their first playoff berth in 20 years, lost against to the Cubs, this time 5-1 as -170 favorites.
The Brewers, trying to avoid falling completely out of competition, blew another large, late-inning lead and lost to the Phillies as a +140 dog, 7-6. Another Brewer win and UNDER play was ruined by the Phillies, whose World Series odds didn't budge today with the signing of Cole Hamels.
The Nationals, trying to put the Mets out of their misery, won again in New York, this time 5-2, beating R.A. Dickey as +100 dogs.
And the Red Sox and Rangers, two of the highest-scoring teams in baseball, played another 'under,' as Boston beat Texas, 2-1. For the day, Tuesday baseball's totals leaned toward the 'unders' by a lopsided 12-3-2 margin.
As for Wednesday, Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals are -170 favorites as they go for the sweep of the Mets; the Pirates and Kevin Correia are -120 favorites as they try to avoid the sweep vs. Ryan Dempster and the Cubs; the Cardinals with Kyle Lohse are -150 chalk over Aaron Harang and the Dodgers; and Derek Holland and the Rangers are -125 favorites for their rubber match against Josh Beckett and the Red Sox.
