The Baltimore Orioles looked like they were about ready to fall out of the American League playoff race. But the O's have shown a little life with back-to-back wins over the Yankees in New York to open this week.

Baltimore picked up its fourth straight victory at The Stadium Tuesday 11-5, coming back from a 5-0 first-inning deficit to score seven runs in the second. The O's also cashed in as +160 underdogs vs. Ivan Nova, and crept to within 5.5 games of New York in the AL East.
Elsewhere Tuesday the Pirates, as -130 favorites at Wrigley Field, got a one-hitter from AJ Burnett and a 5-0 victory over the Cubs. Pittsburgh remains four games up on the competition for the two NL Wild-Card spots.
Down in Arlington, Jered Weaver and the Angels, as -105 favorites, knocked off the Rangers 6-2. So LA now trails Texas by just three games in the AL West.
And out on the Left Coast the Diamondbacks continued their recent mastery of the Dodgers, beating LA 8-2 as +110 underdogs. So Arizona, winners of nine of its last 12 games, sits just 3.5 games out of first place in the NL West, while the Dodgers dropped into second place, a game back of the division-leading Giants, who beat the Mets Tuesday 4-1.
For the day Tuesday favorites won 10 of the 15 games played, and nine games played 'over' on the totals.
As for Wednesday Zach Britton and Baltimore are +170 dogs vs. Phil Hughes and the Yankees; the Pirates with Jeff Karstens are -120 favorites over Travis Wood and the Cubs; Patrick Corbin and the D'Backs are -110 faves vs. Stephen Fife and the Dodgers; and Matt Cain and the Giants are -170 chalk over Jon Niese and the Mets.
