NL West Odds: Arizona Closing Gap On Dodgers, Giants

The Arizona Diamondbacks are the defending champs out in the NL West, and after a slow start to this season they appear ready to make a run at back-to-back division titles.

The D'Backs pulled a little closer to the top of the West on Wednesday by finishing off a sweep of the Dodgers in Los Angeles with a 4-0 victory. Rookie Patrick Corbin threw six innings of shutout ball for the victory, as Arizona cashed in as +105 underdogs.

With first-place San Francisco losing again to the Mets Wednesday, the D'Backs now sit just 2.5 games back of the Giants in the West.

Also on Wednesday, the Texas Rangers scored twice in the bottom of the tenth to beat the Angels 11-10. Their rally bailed out those who had backed Texas as -165 favorites with Yu Darvish starting.

So the Rangers' lead in the AL West is now back to four games over LA, and 4.5 games over Oakland.

As for Thursday's baseball betting action, the Giants, finishing off a four-game series with the Mets, are -130 favorites, as Barry Zito goes against Chris Young; and Texas, with Ryan Dempster making his debut with his new team, is a -115 favorite as it completes its four-game series with the Angels, who will send out former Ranger CJ Wilson.

You also get the chance to wager a first-place team as a home underdog against a last-place team (as the Phillies with Cole Hamels visit Washington).
