Baseball Pennant Odds Heat Up: Divisional Battles Monday

Several good baseball betting matchups jump out at us for early this week involving playoff contenders.

In Washington the NL East-leading Nationals host the team that's trying to reel them in, the Atlanta Braves, for three games starting Monday.

Heading into this series the Nats lead Atlanta by five games in the division standings, although the Braves also own one of the two NL Wild-Card spots.

As of Monday morning, sportsbooks were listing Washington at -145 to win this series, with Atlanta getting +115.

Down in Arlington the AL West-leading Rangers host one of the teams that owns an AL Wild-Card spot, the Baltimore Orioles, for three games beginning Monday. Texas is up five games in its division, while Baltimore is a half-game up on the field in the AL Wild-Card standings.

The Rangers were -225 to win this series, with the O's getting +185.

In Chicago the AL Central-leading White Sox host the AL East-leading Yankees for a three-game set starting Monday. The Sox, after getting swept in Kansas City over the weekend, own a lead of just a game and a half in their division, while New York is five games up in the East.

Shops were listing the Sox at -120 to win this series, with the Yanks "getting" -110.

And out in LA the NL West-leading Dodgers welcome the second-place Giants into Chavez Ravine for three games starting Monday. Los Angeles was at -145 to win this series, with San Francisco getting +115.
