NLCS 2013: Dodgers’ rotation set, Zack Greinke to start Game 1

The Dodgers are set to take on the St. Louis Cardinals in a best-of-seven series beginning Friday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have set their rotation for the best-of-seven National League Championship Series against the Cardinals, reports ESPN.

Zack Greinke will get the start in Game 1 after pitchinig in Game 2 of the NLDS. During that game, Greinke held the Braves to just four hits over six innings, though Atlanta did manage to score two runs. Clayton Kershaw will then take Game 2 on normal rest after making two starts in the NLDS. Kershaw was outstanding against the Braves, allowing just one run on six hits over a total of 13 innings.

Following Greinke and Kershaw will be Hyun-Jin Ryu, who had a very good first season in the MLB. Ryu had the worst start by a Dodger against the Braves, allowing four runs in six innings during Game 3, though the Dodgers still won that game.

The Dodgers did not announce who would start a potential Game 4 with the team not needing a fourth starter yet. If they were to continue on a three-man rotation, Greinke would be starting on three days rest.

Game 1 of the NLCS will take place on Friday. The MLB has not yet announced when first pitch will be.
