The Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals begin their best-of-seven National League Championship Series on Friday evening at Busch Stadium. Former Cy Young winner Zack Greinke will take the hill for the visiting Dodgers, while young right-hander Joe Kelly makes his second-ever postseason start for the home club.

Kelly, 25, pitched fairly well in his debut as a postseason starter in Game 3 against the Pirates. The right-hander allowed just two earned runs in 5⅓ innings of work, but also walked four batters and ended up with a no-decision.
Kelly made just one appearance against the post-Puig Dodgers this season, coming away with a win. The line from the Aug. 6 start looks a lot like his outing last week -- 5⅓ innings, one run -- so if he can duplicate that performance he should put the Cardinals in pretty good position to win.
Greinke was miserable in his first glimpse of October baseball back with the Brewers in 2011, posting a 6.48 earned-run average in three starts. The Dodgers right-hander fared much better in his first start this postseason -- holding the Braves to two runs over six frames in Game 2 -- so L.A. has to hope that his playoff woes are behind him.
