One of the cool/alarming things about online encyclopedia Wikipedia is that anyone can edit it. The edits might not stay live for very long, depending on how accurate or inaccurate they are, but at least temporarily, anybody can say anything about anyone.
Wikipedia-trolling the eliminated Athletics
You have to admit, this was an inventive application of the time-tested Wikipedia troll job.
Take, for example, the Oakland Athletics' Wikipedia page, which earned themselves a new owner thanks to their Game 5 loss to the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS:
Aw, come on guys, that's... well, okay, it's pretty accurate. Justin Verlander threw 15 innings in the American League Division Series against the A's, allowing just six hits, two walks, no runs, all while punching out 21 batters. Combine that with his work against them in 2012's ALDS, in which Verlander threw 16 innings of one-run ball while striking out 22, and at the least you could say he possesses a minority stake in the club.
