The umpiring crews for the NLCS and ALCS have been announced, with a familiar name to baseball fans leading the ALCS crew.
Joe West crew chief for ALCS, Gerry Davis crew chief for NLCS
One of baseball’s more infamous umpires will serve as the crew chief in the ALCS.

Joe West will serve as the ALCS crew chief. His team will consist of Dale Scott, Rob Drake, Dan Iassogna, Ron Kulpa and Alfonso Marquez.
West, nicknamed "Cowboy Joe," is one of the more well-known umpires in MLB. He has a well-earned reputation for seeking out publicity and controversy, and has been quick to eject players and coaches in the past. Former New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera publicly spoke out against West a few seasons ago, telling the New York Post:
“It’s incredible. If he has places to go, let him do something else. What does he want us to do, swing at balls? ... He has a job to do. He should do his job.”
Gerry Davis will head the NLCS crew, with his less-controversial team of Ted Barrett, Mark Carlson, Bruce Dreckman, Mike Everitt and Greg Gibson.
