Dodgers vs. Cardinals NLCS Game 1 score update: Los Angeles, St. Louis scoreless through 2 innings
Joe Kelly and Zack Greinke are in an early pitchers’ duel in St. Louis.
Dodgers starting pitcher Zack Greinke dominated in the first two frames, setting the first six Cardinals down in order while recording a pair of strikeouts. Cardinals hurler Joe Kelly created some traffic in the top of the first after surrendering a single to Mark Ellis and hitting Hanley Ramirez with a pitch, but strikeouts of Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig allowed Kelly to escape the jam.
Ramirez remains in the game despite being noticeably bothered by apparent soreness on his left side, which is where he was hit by Kelly's pitch. The star shortstop received attention from Dodgers trainers after leaping to snare a soft liner off the bat of Matt Holliday in the bottom of the first inning.
