NLCS Game 1, Dodgers vs. Cardinals score update: Still tied, 2-2, after 12 innings in St. Louis

Don Mattingly did some more rally-killing, but the Dodgers’ bullpen has picked up their skipper.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals remain tied, 2-2, entering the 13th inning in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Friday.

The Dodgers had another rally going when Carl Crawford led off the top of the 12th with a single. However, Don Mattingly chose to bunt with Mark Ellis, resulting in the first out of the inning and another intentional walk to star shortstop Hanley Ramirez.

That brought up Michael Young, who grounded into an inning-ending double play.

The Cardinals have had only one player reach base since the ninth inning. That was Matt Carpenter, who led off the bottom of the 11th with a single but was stranded at first after the heart of St. Louis' lineup went down in order against Dodgers reliever J.P. Howell.
